This German lay for Latin characters is the Nagra-Einteilung des Antiqua-Schriftkastens in Kollecher & Matuschke, Der Moderne Druck, 1956 and the Antiquakasten-Einteilung nach Normblatt (DIN16502) shown in Genzmer, Buch des Setzers, 1961. It is also shown on an old poster, Lehrtafel 5, in the Klingspor Museum (Offenbach). It was in use by Papierwerkstatt John Gerard in 1997, and by Druckladen des Gutenberg-Museums (Mainz) in 1997 and still in 2003. Drucken & Lernen showed a slightly differen Antiqua lay in 1991, replacing AE ae with  À, add Ê to È, and leaving empty ì í î á ò ó ù ú and û. Drucken & Lernen later (2007) show a more modern version of the lay.

The boxes with | represent long s. The -- is an em dash, ¦ is a single dagger. Gevierte is em space, Halbgevierte is en, Viertelgevierte is mid, Drittelgevierte is thick. The empty case configuration is German. A slightly different configuration is the Antiqua case, which also has a different lay for accents and ligatures. (Nagra is the Normenausschuß für das Graphische Gewerbe).
