This U.S. case configuration is shown by, for example, American Type Founders, American Line Type Book 1906, and Barnhart Bros & Spindler, Book of Type Specimens No.9 1907, and Hamilton Manufacturing Company, Modern Cabinets, Furniture and Materials for Printers, Catalog 14 c.1907. The lay is Three Quarter. The case is simply a smaller version of the full-size California Job case, and is 26½x16⅝ inches.

Hamilton state that all their three quarter cases are the same style and arrangement as their full size cases, and in 1907 listed the following three quarter cases:
