The typecase configuration is one that is in current use in the Netherlands, courtesy of the Avalon Pers. It is also shown by Hostettler: Technical Terms of the Printing Industry (1949, 4th rev ed 1963) as being the lay used by Enschedé en Zonen, Haarlem. The empty case can be seen as Letterkast. The case dimensions are 325/8 x 207/8 inches (approx 83 x 53 cms)

The AE box also contains OE and ae and oe. Box -- is for em dash. ¦ represents a single dagger. Spacing is vliesjes (hair) dunne (thin) vierkanten (mid) dikke (thick). Sup and inf are for superior and inferior figures.
