Empty Czech Single Case

This Czech typecase configuration matches a case on display in the National Technical Museum, Prague in June 2019, and is part of a cabinet that was made in Bohemia and dates from between 1900 and 1935. The case has 125 boxes and is partitioned vertically into three bays. The normal Czech Single of c. 1960 has 130 boxes, but an earlier Czech case of 1925 also has 125 boxes, but a slightly different arrangement in the ‘lower’ section.

The actual lay of the case was not recorded at the time of visit, and does not quite match the normal Czech Single lay as it has fewer boxes.

A Hungarian case shown in the Kiscelli Museum, Budapest, is also divided into three bays, with 129 boxes, but has one more row of small boxes than the NTM case, and an Austrian case shown by Niel in 1925, is also in three bays, but has 150 boxes as it is designed to include small capitals.
