This German typecase configuration matches that of Gessner: Die so nöthig als nützliche Buchdruckerkunst und Schriftgiesserey (1740), illustrated in Gaskell: The Lay of the Case, in Studies in Bibliography, vol 22 (1969). There are 102 boxes for the Fraktur letters and spacing, etc. As a contrast, the modern case shown by Genzmer in 1961 has 115 boxes.
