This U.S. typecase construction is shown in Thompson Cabinet Co: Thompson Equipment for Printing Plants Catalog 47 (c1949) as their model 13199 case. It is sized 143/4 x 101/16 inches, and three will fit into their standard full size blank case. Thompson show this case orientated as above, but of course, the cases have to be rotated to fit in a full size blank.

The construction has two rows of small boxes and four rows of large boxes, i.e. allowing more room for A to Z as opposed to signs and punctuation. However, the One Third Cap case shown by Hamilton in 1932 has all rows the same size.
