This Portugese typecase configuration was provided by a Portugese friend of Bob Oldham, of the Ad Lib press in USA, in 2019. It has 129 boxes, unlike the somewhat similar Spanish Caja Normal which has 128 boxes. Note that the boxes for U and J are in alphabetic sequence, but K and W are not. The spacing (espaços) boxes are 1 to 4 point (pontos), en (meios quadratins), em (quadratins), and quads (quadrados). There is a very similar Portugese Single case shown by da Silva in 1962 that has fewer accents (no À Â Ä etc and Ñ ñ and Æ Œ etc) and also has 2½pt not 4pt spacing. Da Silva also shows an Old Single Case which includes the accents and also small capitals.

The empty configuration is Portugese Single.
