These U.S. typecases are quarter sized, and four will fit into a normal blank case, i.e which has no interior boxes. Examples of these cases are shown, for example, in Hamilton Manufacturing Co: Printing Plant Equipment, Type Storage Section, Catalog 16 (c1932). The case above is Model 3075 Cap and Figure. The boxes are 1¼ inches square, and 7/8 inches deep. The case below is Model 3030 for accents, split fractions, small caps, ornaments, etc. Hamilton's suggested lay is shown alongside the case.
