This English configuration is the two third case shown by Miller & Richard: Specimens of Book Newspaper Jobbing and Ornamental Types (1894) and still in Printing Type Specimens (1927). It is 23½ inches, rather than the normal full size 32½ inches wide. Note that the case differs from the normal Lower) case in having an extra box above the e box, but two less small boxes. Thus there are 52 boxes in the lower case section, rather than the normal 53.
Miller and Richard showed a companion Two Third Upper (which has the normal 49 + 49 boxes) and also a Two Third Double case which has 81 boxes.
