This Spanish typecase configuration matches the Caxa Baxa shown by de Paredes, Institvción y Origen del Arte de la Imprenta (c.1680), reprinted by Moll (El Crotalòn 1984), assuming it is one of a pair of cases. The companion upper case is Caxa Alta and the actual lay is de Paredes.

The case has 45 boxes, and has one less row than in English or U.S. Lower cases.
