This Spanish case configuration matches the Caxa Alta shown by de Paredes, Institvción y Origen del Arte de la Imprenta (c.1680), reprinted by Moll (El Crotalòn 1984), assuming it is one of a pair of cases. It also matches that shown by Juan Joseph Sigüenza y Vera, Mecanismo del arte de la Imprenta (1811), reprinted Almarabu 1992. Note there are six rows of eight boxes in each bay, ie 2 x 48 boxes, whereas the U.K. and U.S. normal Upper case has 2 x 49 boxes. A possible lay is de Paredes, and the companion lower case is de Paredes or Sigüenza y Vera.
