Empty Fount Case

This typecase configuration is of a case that was used by Oxford University Press, but is now (2026) at Hurst Street Studios in Oxford. No manufacturer is evident, so it may have been made by the Press. It is intended for storing large quantities of type, and is built with small wheels under the base, allowing for easy movement. It also projects 5 inches on either side at the rear (not shown above). The actual case measures 21 by 30 inches and is 7 inches deep.
