This U.S. lay is that of Missouri-Central Type Foundry: Price List (1959). It is also that of Hamilton Manufacturing Co: Modern Printing Office Furniture (1922) and American Type Founders: Catalogue (1923), but both caption it a Yankee Two Third case. The Gujarati Type Foundry: Type Book (1928) calls it an Italic Two Third case, and Polk: The Practice of Printing (rev ed 1964) simply calls it a Two Third.

Note that the ffl box also holds fl. The empty case configuration is Two Third California. The full size case is California Job. For other variations in names, see for example the California of Hamilton, the New York of Long, and the Yankee that is a straight copy of the full-size case.
