This case layout is the double bas-de-casse shown in Fonderie Deberny et Cie's Le Livret typographique 1904 as shown in Jacques André & Christian Laucou's Histoire de l'Écriture Typographique: Le XIX Sieclè Français 2013. (An Internet Archive copy of Le Livret typographique dated 1886 shows this case, but the actual page is dated 1904 and there are other pages dated up to 1923 which must be the actual date of that particular edition, and thus the typecase must still have been in use then). Despite being a lower case configuration, the layout is actually for upper case characters, one size in the top section and a smaller size in the bottom section.

The empty case configuration is French Double Lower, although this lacks the partitions for the AEILMN and ORSTV characters, and indeed it is not at all clear whether these partitions are in fact part of the original case.
