This U.S. typecase construction is the model 3199 case shown by Hamilton Manufacturing Co: Hamilton Printing Plant Equipment, Type Storage Setion Catalog 16 (c1932). It is sized 143/4 x 101/16 inches and three wil fit in a standard blank case with no central bar.

The rows of boxes are all the same size, but there is also a One Third Cap case shown by Thompson Cabinet Co in 1949, with the top two rows smaller than the botton four (with the case viewed rotated 90 degrees).
